Modifying my goals

I joined the gym on Saturday. I'm not quite at my heaviest weight ever but I'm close. Even when I ran the marathon in October I was easily 35-40 lbs over weight. It's time to take control. I know, I know...I've been saying this for over a year now. What's different this time? For one thing, I am much more emotionally stable right now. Of course if you asked Adam he might disagree but I feel it. I still have my moments but I defiantly feel more in control. Secondly, I have made some conscious efforts to change my lifestyle and to make healthier choices and in doing so I've already lost 7 lbs. I want my healthy life back. I'm looking at marathons tonight. I think I've decided to do Top of Utah since St. George entrance fee went up to $80. Yowza! That gives me 28 weeks to whip my butt into shape. I had a great run on Saturday that has left me motivated to do this. And I have the support of so many wonderful people. My husband is my biggest cheerleader and I thank him for that. Now, time to get into gear. If you need me, I'll be at the gym!

Way to go, Ang. I wish I could get myself to make better choices. I do good for a while and then slip and have to start over. I'll have to think about Top of Utah. It has been on my mind. I just don't know if I could train again through the summer. That was hard. I guess I'll just have to see how my body is holding up around then. I DO want to run another one WITH you. I'll do the 1/2 though for sure. Call me sometime and we'll chat.

Woo Hoo! Seven pounds is terrific progress. Angi, have you considered cycling as a sport? It's not so hard on your joints and spine. Neil and I are both developing quite the addiction. We'd love to have you ride with us. There is a race from Eagle Mountain part way around the lake for $35.00 on May 29th. It's 100 miles. Think about it.
