Millie and the rodeo

Millie begged and begged to go to the rodeo this year. For me, the rodeo is a "once every few years" kind of event so I said no. Never fear, Aunt Missy to the rescue. She took Millie to the rodeo Friday night and then to the parade on Saturday.

The 24th of July at the Owlz game

It's become a tradition of ours to spend the 24th of July night at an Owlz game. We always get free tickets to sit on the berm and watch the fireworks after dark with our family. This year I was flying solo as Adam had already made other plans.

Owen is generally scared of the fireworks and doesn't really know Julie but he climbed right into her lap. Thanks Julie!

I tried to get a picture of our group but we were just too big
I was so thankful for Michelle's help keeping Ian entertained

Watching the game
There was an Owlz guy throwing hats into the crowd. He throw one into a group of older people who had no idea what he was doing... They just thought some kid threw their hat at them so they set it aside. I had seen the whole thing and tried to talk several of my kids into getting it. Finally, with Millie's help Owen went and picked it up.
I love it and think it's such a great tradition. I love how we always do such fun things with Adam's family. Mine? not so much. We really don't get together much. Somehow I'd really like that to change. Maybe I need to be the one to take charge and plan things? hmmm...

Date night at Lagoon

Adam won a promotion at work and scored three tickets to Lagoon and the day off. Since we already planned on taking the kids next week with his work Lagoon day we thought it would be fun to have a date night at Lagoon. It was fun although Adam isn't a huge ride fan. It was nice to go at our own pace, ride the rides we wanted and not listen to any meltdowns. We watched the show L'orage with was neat but all the hype about it made me expect more.

Foam Day

Millie being totally blasted by the foam...all you can see is her little legs!
Ian did NOT like the foam...the one time I made him get in he immediately started wiping it off
Lots and lots of fun in lots and lots of foam...

New Dr.

We had another Dr appointment with a new Doctor yesterday. Can I just say I left feeling 10lbs lighter? I absolutely loved her and feel like she will really work hard with us to make things better for Ian and for us. He will start some new meds today and we will cross our fingers! While we were there we got to visit with spider man! Ian thought he was pretty cool!

Bunco

I finally got over myself and actually had a good time. I really, really don't know what's wrong with me lately. Actually, I do...I just don't know how to fix it. Anyway...I really am lucky to be part of such a great family. Here are some pictures from the night.

I just now realized I didn't get any pictures of Cari! I thought I had gotten everyone! Dang...She's a "married into the Harris family"...we gotta stick together!

The dam finally broke

Last night we had a little get together up the canyon with some of Adam's siblings. We were discussing our plans for today (the girls going to dinner and Bunco). Ian has a Dr. Appointment in SLC and I told them the soonest I could be there was 6:00. I didn't think I was being unreasonable because we usually don't start Bunco until 6:30 or 7:00. Well, they decided to start at 5:30. I can't even begin to explain how badly that hurt. Immediately the tears started to roll. In fact...they are still flowing. In their defense, their mom wanted to start early (5:00) so she could get home to be to the temple the next morning. I know they were just trying to find common ground but I really felt like I was purposely being excluded. In reality, there was so much building up, leading to this point that made the tears flow. This was merely the trigger. I feel SO alone. To clarify, I know that I am surrounded by loving, caring people that would do anything for me in a heartbeat. What I really, really need? A good friend. One who wants to listen to me. One who wants to be with me. Most of the time I find that my friendships are very one-sided. I generally get more attached to people then they do to me. Ever heard the saying "don't make someone a priority if they only make you an option"? I feel like every one's option. Oh well. Somehow I need to pull it all together to show up at Bunco tonight not totally sobbing. I've been thinking all morning that maybe I should just skip it all together even though I could really, really use a night out.
