Frustrated with my family's inactivity and my own 10lb weight gain, I decided to introduce the Harris 30 day fitness challenge. Last night for FHE we did as many sit-ups and push-up as we could and then ran 1/4 mile as fast as we could. Everyone participated the best that they could (minus Owen!). We talked about the importance of exercise and healthy eating. We also decided there would be no computer or T.V. after school to help promote more activity. Our goal as a family is 2000 minutes of activity by December 4. And we are aiming to improve on our "fitness test" as well. One of my additional goals is to lose 10lb in the process. I am excited about this and I hope my family can benefit from more physical activity.

5 people not afraid to say something:
Good Luck !!! I wish I could join you with your challenge. Maybe in a few weeks when the Dr. gives me the ok. Keep us posted...
After completing the challenge, you have several options. Most likely it will be fairly easy to continue your new habit, even if it was difficult to start. I find that the effort required to keep going feels like 5-10% of the effort to build the habit in the first place. So you may decide to continue your new habit as-is, to reassess and refine it, or to drop it.Run or bike at least 25 minutes or go for a 60-minute hike in the mountains every day. Get up at 5am every morning, including weekends.
