Project: Organization

I've been thinking a lot about why I'm feeling so overwhelmed these days. I've missed Millie's dance class two weeks in a row. I missed Ian's speech appointment last week. The house isn't ever clean. The laundry is waiting for me on the bed. Dinner is usually a last minute thought. The truth is that my life isn't any crazier now than it was at the beginning of the year. The problem is that at the beginning of the year I was on top of these, at the peak of organization. I felt so good then. So calm. So in control. A few friends and I took Marie Ricks class on organization and I learned so much. It's amazing how much more at peace I feel when things are all in order. It's time I get some of that peace back. I'm going into full organization mode putting to use all those things I've learned. I'm de-junking my house and my mind. I'm putting my menu to use again. I'm scheduling my day. I'm prioritizing my week. I'm setting achievable goals for myself. I may go through some "facebook" withdrawls but it's time I stop being so idle. It's time to have a house of order.

Organize yourselves; prepare every needful thing; and establish a house, even a house of prayer, a house of fasting, a house of faith, a house of learning, a house of glory, a house of order, a house of God. D&C 88:119

Good for you! Maybe I will be inspired as I follow your blog. I remember when you started taking Marie Rick's organizing class. I hope you took good notes. Maybe you could pass along your favorites.
Good luck!

Oh I need help with menus. I'm just sick of thinking of new things to make and sometimes too scared to try new things. Let me know how it goes.

Angi, I love Marie Ricks. I bought her book a few years back. I've loved the things I've implemented, but it's hard to initiate change on everything. You'll be glad you got a head start on Thanksgiving and Christmas.
