A day in the life (mindless ramblings about really stupid day)

Today my day began at 1:00 a.m. That was the first time Ian woke up. And then he woke up again around 2:00. and then again at 3:00. At 3:30 Millie woke up...throwing up. Owen had spent all of Sunday evening throwing up so it shouldn't have been a surprise. I finally made it back to sleep around4:30. My alarm sounded at 6:40 and I let out a big groan. I was really wishing I hadn't stayed up late to finish The diamond of darkhold. The day started off slow and the laundry was piled high from all the puke. Ian kicked and screamed until he finally climbed on the bus at 7:50. Mornings with him are always a nightmare with him but today it was especially bad because of his lack of sleep. After he left my daycare kids arrived and I sent Matthais off to school. Not long after that I was downstairs starting the laundry when Millie started screaming upstairs. I found her on the floor with her hair tightly wound around the axle on a remote control car. We got that untangled and I sent her off to the bath while I messed around on the computer. At 10:00 I loaded everyone up to head over to Dippidee's to buy a birthday treat for Kelly. At 10:30 I pulled into walmart for a few quick items. Boy was I in for a surprise! Can walmart ever really be quick? The kids were good and I found my items really fast and headed to the self checkout. However, the one I rang everything up on froze after I had used my debit card. Three associates and 44 MINUTES LATER I was finally out of there. They assured me my debit card had only been charged once. WRONG!!! It went through twice (that will be my adventure tomorrow!). Unfortunately my "quick trip" to walmart turned into a hour and half ordeal. So now I'm late picking up my carpool for kindergarten and I'm late meeting my daycare mom to drop off her kids. While I'm at walmart I get a call from Ian's teacher. They're pretty sure he just had a seizure. So, I make a really quick stop at Wendy's to grab some nuggets ( since when are they 1.19!) and head to the school. It's my day to do books so we make a quick stop in Ian's class (he's ok) hand off the daycare kids and head to the book room. Normally it takes me 15-20 minutes. Today 45. Owen had to potty 3 times. Ok, so now, not only am I tired. I'm ornery. We get home at 1:00 and get Owen asleep minutes before Ian comes screaming through the door at 1:30. I'm online warn Adam that I'm having a really bad day and he tells me to go lay down with Ian and have a nap. Great idea I think! So I grab him and throw him in my bed when I remember...he has speech at 2! So we get his shoes back on and head out the door to speech. When speech is over at 2:30 I pick him up and head straight over to pick up the kids from school. When we get home I start the washer again. The same load has been in all day and I've gotten three error codes. I decide to pull the washer apart and see why it's not draining. Inside the drain I find two of Owen's little socks stuck in it. No wonder it didn't want to drain! I put it back together and start it back up. Only...I didn't quite put it back together. Water started pouring all over the floor! Thank goodness Adam came home and I transferred that job onto him. Sigh.Adam came home with Jazz tickets but I just couldn't go. I was way too tired so he took Matthais. Now I am sitting here watching Barbie Nutcracker counting down to 7:30. That is when I'm putting the kids to bed and crashing myself. FHE will have to wait til tomorrow. And so will my next adventure!

Oh my goodness!
What a crazy day!

I'm sorry I didn't answer when you called! I was napping when you called my cell and my mom told me you called the house too!

I definitely wish I could have helped but I probably would have just shared my cold with everyone and made tomorrow even more miserable.

:(

Ugh! I give you all this talk about how I'm here to help any time and then when you need it I'm sick!

I promise, next time

I am amazed that it took you so late in the day to become ornery. I would have been ornery from the beginning of the day. You are such a trooper!

Walmart is the devil! I swear, nothing about that place is fast. I hope you have a better day today. Has everyone puked yet? Are you done? I think I would have skipped speech for that nap. You are awesome!

Angi, it sounds like you need to say, "Bag it!" to everything for a day. No stores, no errands, no school, no meetings, no hassles. I can't even imagine all that you're trying to accomplish amid endless obstacles. I think my life is so simple without buses to catch or any obligations to keep.

Want to come to Yoga? 5:45a.m. Thursday morning.

You are amazing! I know there are days when EVERYTHING seems to go wrong-but look on the bright side-Ian was okay, Adam did come home, the washer was fixable and Matthais was probably stoked to go to the game! Give yourself a hug from me and hope there's not a repeat of this day!
