Maybe I just need a maid...

So Jen got me thinking. My new floors will be done soon and I'll need to be taking care of them. I hate to sweep and mop... At least the vacuum does most of the work for you. Although I am grateful that I won't have to vacuum every hour, I want to keep my floor looking good. I've been looking at all the various apparatus's out there. I'm just not sure what to get? Do I just stick with the traditional broom and mop or do I get something like the swifter or a sweeper? What do you use to clean your hardwood floors?

Sorry to get you all worried prematurely. I usually sweep and then use the swifter mop. It's not that bad really and at least you know nothing's hiding down in the corners of the carpet. It's really clean. But the maid idea sounds good too. But you being the thrifty person you are...I'd just get your oldest to work off his debt in mopping money.

I use all of the above on ours. I sweep most regularly, but at least weekly the kids (its part of hteir weekely jobs) wet swiffer it, and occassionally it needs the big guns--the mop. Luckily, the wood grain hides a LOT of the dirt and grime. But when I can feel it when I step in my socks, it is time to take care of the floors.

You'll love the floors! They are my favorite addition in my kitchen.

Angi, I am so excited for you. I love getting new things in my old house (paint, floors, a table, whatever). I also like the swiffer vac to whip out after each meal.

For what it is worth, I like your hair dark. I think you would look good darker too. You're lucky you can pull off either (blonde or brunette).

We sweep-swiffer under the couch and stuff and wipe with a mopnglo microfiber thing every week. I'll have to come see in person when they're ready!

We still use the vacuum. Ours has a hardwood setting. Then we usually go over it with a swifter. Cheryl thought that was the coolest thing ever when she discovered it.
